Ashley has worked in Health Care for the last 20 years as an EMT, Orthopedic Technician, Nurse, and currently a Nurse Practitioner. He graduated from HBU with honors in 2003 with a double major in Biology and Psychology. He then attended Texas Woman’s University and obtained a degree in Nursing in 2008. He has worked in various specialties, but most of his career in Nursing has been tailored towards cardiovascular disease.
He returned to Texas Woman’s University in 2012 and started his Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program and received his Master in Nursing in 2015. He has worked in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Vascular, and Lifestyle Medicine while emphasizing the importance of plant based eating.
The foundation of his clinical practice is patient centered. His belief is, to obtain quality of health, there needs to be the empowerments of patient’s through patient education. He is passionate of this endeavor.
When not at work, he loves spending time with his family and looks forward to their annual summer trips. He enjoys his daily run and meditating before the start of any day. His mantra of existence is “to live in the moment”.
