Residency-trained General Surgeon and vein specialist, Peter Morgan, MD, has over 26 years of surgical experience and works under the notion that all men and women deserve superior, state-of-the-art medical care.
After high school, Dr. Morgan enlisted in the Navy where he worked as a jet engine mechanic and on the flight deck of aircraft carriers. He went on to study chemistry at the University of New Orleans, where he was selected for inclusion in the accelerated honors program at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Morgan received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He was then accepted for a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where he finished both an internship and his residency. Most of his training was completed at the prestigious Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
In April of 2008, Dr Morgan joined Vein Centers of Texas where he underwent formal training in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous insufficiency. Since his additional training, Dr. Morgan’s practice has been exclusively dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous insufficiency. Having performed well over 20,000 endovenous enclosures, Dr. Morgan is one of the most experienced vein surgeons in the country.
In October of 2012, Dr. Morgan founded Lone Star Vein Centers and opened offices in Pasadena and The Woodlands. In 2018, the Pasadena office relocated to Pearland, where it still operates to this day along with the very busy Woodlands office.
Over the years, Dr. Morgan has established himself as one of the premier vein specialists in Texas and has enjoyed an exceptionally high patient satisfaction rate. Acknowledged for his quality care and commitment to the medical field, Dr. Morgan won the Living Best of The Woodlands Readers’ Choice award for best vein doctor in 2013, 2014, and 2016.
Additionally, Dr. Morgan’s practice caters to revision treatments of patients who have undergone previous failed interventions. Any individual with failure of initial treatment can be significantly improved upon – an important part of Dr. Morgan’s practice. These are often extensive and complex procedures requiring meticulous correction of all venous reflux, whether that be in the form of refluxing perforators, refluxing long veins, or failure of previous closures.
Dr. Morgan treats some of the most severe cases of chronic venous insufficiency and yields impressive treatment results due to his expertise, experience, and advanced tools and technology. He’s participated in various research papers and has a special interest in traumatic thoracic aortic aneurysms and theoretical chemistry. In 2010, he co-authored a study titled “Chronic Venous Insufficiency: A Disease of Ignorance and Potential” in the American Thoracic Surgery journal with co-authors Charles Moore, MD, and Charles Rodman, MD.
Dr. Morgan speaks both English and Spanish, allowing him to better communicate with a diverse group of patients. When he isn’t serving patients, Dr. Morgan enjoys ranching, cave diving, hunting, and spending valuable time with his family and dogs.
